A Double Kong Vault is a vault used in parkour. It is similar to a regular Kong, but is used to get over two obstacles (or one long obstacle). The approach and takeoff is exactly like a regular kong, but rather than letting one's feet touch, the traceur pushes off twice.
Guide[]
Prerequisite[]
Before attempting to learn the double kong vault it is extremely important to have completely mastered the standard diving kong vault variation. This is because the double kong vault is essentially just a monkey vault going directly into a diving kong vault without the feet touching in-between. Therefore it is important to feel comfortable performing long dives and still being able to comfortably land back on your feet.
Having control over a basic monkey vault is also important to control the takeoff. However, it is important to note that unlike a standard monkey vault your body is not pushed upright after the first vault but instead goes horizontal so having control off the basic monkey vault can help with this adjustment in positioning midair.

Parkour Variations[]
Diving Double Kong[]
A variant where the practitioner dives into the first kong rather than starting with a monkey vault. In this variation it is back-to-back diving kong vaults.
Triple Kong[]
There is also a variant known as a triple kong were the traceur pushes off three times rather than two; however, this is a very advanced move and is rarely attempted.
There is often a debate about whether a triple kong truly falls under parkour since generally any obstacle that can be done with a triple kong can also be done with a double kong, so the triple is mostly just for style. This is especially true when considering that most people "cheat" the third kong by quickly tapping 3 times, and is most typically done on a distance so short a single kong vault would work. So in this scenarios the vault falls more on the freerunning side. With that being said, in specific scenarios it may actually make a difference and can therefore be considered parkour.
